Airway Surgical Appliances has manufactured orthopaedic soft goods, bracing and compression hosiery in Canada for well over a century, from its base in Ottawa. Six of its brands sit on our shelves in Surrey — Truform, OTC, Champion, PCP, Touch and CSX — and anything in their catalogues can be ordered in. There are cheaper ways to fill these shelves. Here is the reasoning.
Domestic freight, not a container
Airway ship from Ottawa, so an ordered item is usually about a week rather than the six to twelve of an overseas order. When someone needs a brace after surgery or a commode before a discharge, that difference is the whole point.
Model numbers that stay put
When a physiotherapist writes down a model number, it should still mean the same product in two years. A century-old manufacturer with a stable catalogue makes that possible; a shifting roster of import brands does not.
Sizes rather than one-size-fits-all
Most of this range is sized by measurement — S through 7XL in some stockings, left and right variants in wrist braces, junior and child crutches. That only works if the manufacturer actually stocks the depth, and it is why fitting in person is worth the trip.

Can I order anything from these catalogues?
Yes. We list the full catalogues rather than only what is on the shelf, precisely so you can find the model you were told to get. Quote us the model number on 604-240-2450 and we will price it and give you a realistic date. Nothing on these pages is out of reach — some of it simply is not sitting in the showroom today.
Why are there no prices on the catalogue listings?
Because most of it is ordered in, and pricing moves with the manufacturer and with size or colour. A number printed on a page would go stale and mislead you. Anything we hold in stock is priced on its shop page; everything else gets a real quote the same day you ask.
How long does an ordered item take?
Usually about a week. If a size is on back-order at Airway we tell you when we quote rather than after you have paid.
Which of this will insurance cover?
It varies sharply by category. Compression stockings and orthopaedic bracing are commonly reimbursed by extended health plans, usually with a prescription. Bathroom safety equipment is rarely covered by anyone. MSP does not fund any of it. Ministry programs may fund equipment where there is an assessed need, but approval must come before purchase. We give itemised receipts with model numbers, which is what insurers ask for.
Do I need an appointment to be fitted?
No — walk in. Bracing and compression both take about five minutes to measure. If you want to be sure the size you need is on the shelf before driving out, call ahead and we will check.
Do you carry other manufacturers?
Yes. Alongside Airway we are dealers for Maple Leaf Wheelchair, MOBB Home Health Care and Drive Medical. Between them they cover wheelchairs, mobility scooters, homecare beds, bath safety and daily living — so most requests can be met from a line we already deal with.

If a physiotherapist, surgeon or occupational therapist named a product, we will match it exactly. If nobody did, describe the problem and we will narrow six catalogues down to two options and measure you for the right size.
